Performa conducted an analysis for four land parcels being considered for a Temporary Detention Center in the southern Florida area. The overall mission of the TDC is to house detainees entering the United States in a rapid influx condition. The TDC needed to accommodate 10,000 detainees and have the flexibility to accommodate a variety of age and gender classifications. Each of the parcels were assessed for their ability to meet specific site and facility evaluation criteria and to accommodate the major functional areas with a TDC, such as, detention housing, administration, food servery, recreation, personal hygiene and storage. "Test Fit" studies were conducted on each site, exploring variations of land use layouts and structure types.
